Hiatal Hernia
A Hiatal Hernia is present when a portion of the stomach moves up into the chest cavity through the hole in the diaphragm. Three types of a Hiatal Hernia can occur: sliding (the stomach slides back and forth, in and out of the chest), fixed (the upper part of the stomach is caught in the chest), and complicated (the entire stomach may move up into the chest).
